Raymond T. (Trujillo) Gabaldon January 05, 1935 ~ June 9, 2018 Raymond T. (Trujillo) Gabaldon, 83, of Washington Terrace, Utah, passed peacefully June 9, 2018. Son of Pedro and Ciprianita Gabaldon, he was born in Bernalillo, New Mexico- January 05, 1935. Raised in Layton, Utah. As a youth his family was farmers and he had an opportunity or two to drive the old truck to the mill to drop off fruit or whatever else was picked. He had an eighth-grade education. He enjoyed growing up with his brothers, sisters, and cousins. At age 18 Raymond enlisted in the US Army as a PVT. He was a Korean War Veteran. He earned the National Defense service medal, United Nations service medal. Korean service medal. He said he went to Korea got his feet wet and they havent been warm since. He married Irene Salazar in 1956 and they together had six children. He later married Nadine Maxwell 1981 until her death in 2006. He was a self-taught master mechanic on both, cars and aircraft. He enjoyed being a pit mechanic for his Midas race team while living in Portland, Oregon. His children have many fond memories at the race track. He attended Weber State University for a short time. He worked and retired after 29 years at Hill Air Force Base. He was proud to have become a supervisor. (1976 to 2005) in the Aircraft Division as an F4 and F16 mechanic. After his retirement, he was asked what he liked to do. His reply was, "I enjoy doing absolutely nothing that is what retirement is for." Raymond was an active member for many years in the Roy Eagles. At one point he was President. He was a chili cook-off master. He enjoyed Super Bowl celebrations and many of the activities he was involved in. Gambling in Wendover, racing, mariachi music and the pretty girls were some of his likes. He had special love for his Dog Bo Wolf and is reunited finally. We as a family want to thank Bristol Hospice for being on our care team. Lola and Tiffany, you are the best. We couldnt have done it without you. Survived by Brothers and Sister: Tony (Margaret) Gabaldon, Helen (Harold) Archuleta, David (DarLita) Gabaldon Children: Madeleine Crawford, Ray (Kristy) Gabaldon, Margie Magana, Ben Gabaldon, Paul (Kimberli) Gabaldon, Sophia Gabaldon 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by Parents Pedro (Ciprianita) Grandparents Juan M. (Tita) Trujillo Brothers Solomon Gabaldon, George Gabaldon, Frank Gabaldon, Jo Gabaldon and Sister Rose Mary (Giron) Granddaughter Crystal Crawford A Viewing Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street Ogden, Utah 84403, with Vigil services at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Marys Catholic Church, Thursday, June 14, 2018.10:00 AM 4050 S 3900 West Haven 84401 on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 10:00 am Internment at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park. A luncheon will be provided after for family who would like to attend.
