Renate Ursulla Kane (Renie) died peacefully in her sleep on May 7, 2013. She was born in Herzberg/Harz, Germany Aug. 7, 1924, and was the oldest of three children.Despite World War II raging about her, she graduated majoring in foreign languages. She speaks fluent English, French, Latin and German.In 1955 she met Charles R. Kane, a U.S. Army officer who was stationed in Germany. They married in 1957, and lived in France for a five-year tour of duty. In 1962, they moved to Ogden. In 1966, they had their only child Sandra Kane.She worked for the Internal Revenue Service from 1969 to 1986, when she retired.To know her was to love her. She had a kind, loving heart with a unique personality. She truly was one in a million. If you spent just a few minutes with her you would be smiling and you never ever left her house hungry. She will be missed. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles and daughter Sandra.She is survived by her dog Brownie, son-n-law and wife Lance and Stephanie Howerton and her grandkids that she loved dearly Haley, Emery, Mason, Phoenix, Tyler and Aubry . Her brother and his wife Norbert and Hannelore Graef and her sister and her husband Elisabeth and Juergen Harnning and many nieces and nephews in Germany. Many members of the Kane family mostly residing in New Jersey. A special thanks to Rich Bender and all the beautiful caregivers that helped Ma over the years. Family and friends are invited to the Viewing which will be held Wednesday the 15th from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 to 11a.m. directly followed by the Funeral at 11:00 am with burial afterwards. These will be located at Leavitts Mortuary located at 836 36th Street in Ogden. We will have a reception of her favorite foods afterwards at her house.
