IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rhett
Rivera
August 25, 1977 – December 1, 2024
Rhett Elias Rivera passed away on December 1st, 2024. Rhett was born on August 25th, 1977 in Ogden, Utah. He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph Rivera, his father-in-law, Bruce Baird, his grandparents, his sister-in-law, Chera Baird, and his dog, Domino Beans Rivera. He is survived by his wife, Alisa Rivera, his three daughters, Charlotte, Brooklyn, and Sydney Rivera, his unofficial son, Jared Heth, his two sisters, Shellie (Todd) Jensen and Raven (Jay) Wren, his brother Seven (Jamie) Rivera, his mother, Lonna Rivera, his frenemy, Mr. Kitty, his dog Billie, his mother and father-in-law, Joan and Bill Wade, as well as his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other in-laws.
Rhett graduated from Ogden High School in 1995 and went on to get his associates degree from Weber State, though he pursued education unofficially his whole life and had various interests delving into countless subjects. He took great pride in his work as a juvenile corrections officer, which he did for 25 years, and really enjoyed helping his kids, making a lasting impact on many, who would go on to reach out to him even years down the line.
He was a realistic (yet optimistic) fan of the Philly Eagles. The Incredible Hulk was his favorite superhero (because who doesn't have one of those)? Rhett loved animals, especially dogs, and had many in his life, including Sparky, Pup, Dummy, Bugsy, Clyde, Billie, and his special boy Domino, who will be meeting him on the rainbow bridge.
Rhett was an avid golfer, who spent most summer and spring days at different courses. He loved sharing his passion for golf with his family, friends, and even strangers on the course, giving out his endless supply of Hulk fist club covers to any children who seemed interested.
He loved to spend his days going on hikes in the mountains, enjoying nature. He loved to play video games with his girls, and played the same ones, over and over. Rhett was a man of character, and most people remember him for his funny personality and warm kindness. He was a good man who touched countless peoples' hearts. He was known for his entertaining stories, clever pranks, playin' it straight, and purposeful mispronunciation of words.
Although he had a less than average lifespan, Rhett did not have an average life. He was an unforgettable man and laughed at every opportunity. He loved his family more than anything. He will be greatly missed.
A viewing will be held on December 7th, 2024 at 9:45 am, and a celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am. Both will be located at the Leavitt's Mortuary at 836 36th Street, Ogden.
