Richard LeRoy Ballantyne, 73, passed away in his home on June 28, 2017, with his family by his side. Richard was the most humble, loving and selfless person who always took care of his family and loved ones. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know him. Richard was born on August 24, 1943 to LeRoy Ballantyne and Lizzie Russell in Ogden, Utah. He graduated in 1961 from Ogden High School. Richard married Kathleen Wilkinson in 1964 and had three children; Mark, Stacey and Jennifer. They were later divorced. Richard worked at Hill Air Force Base and retired in 2003. Richard had many passions in life. During his younger years, he loved fishing and playing baseball. He later enjoyed playing softball and golfing with his buddies. In his retirement years, Richard grew to love soccer and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports; but his greatest passion of all was the love he had for his family. Richard is survived by his sweetheart of many years, LaDell Larkin, and his three children: Mark Ballantyne (Patty), Stacey Roche, and Jennifer Ballantyne Bell (Garrett); his grandchildren; Richie (Dani), Brandy, Michael, Baylee, Amber (Grant), Jaiden; and one great granddaughter McKynlee. He is also survived by his older brother Brent Ballantyne (Shirley); his cousin Karen Hadley, who was like a sister to him, and other cousins and friends. In respecting his wishes, there will be a Graveside Service held for family and friends on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT.
