Rick passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday January 20th, 2023, at the age of 78.

He was born Nov 1, 1944 in Ogden UT

Rick always loved working out, running, and lifting weights. Spending time at the gym was his therapy. He enjoyed going for drives in the mountains with his wife Faye, shopping at the DI where he would find a lot of his name brand clothes and going for coffee. In his early years he enjoyed camping, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Rick had a sense of humor, he was funny and could tell a story and have everyone laughing. When he was younger he had a great voice and loved to sing. Once he sang “Old Shep” at a picnic and brought everyone to tears. 

Rick sang worship music on a weekly TV program, Ogden’s local channel 30. He was a Christian, he loved reading and talking scripture, he worked in Ministry and for Ogden City for a short time. 

Rick was preceded in death by his wife Odie Faye Hughes, his parents Jack H and Blanche A Hughes, 3 brothers Robert Hughes (his twin), David L Hughes, Kim W Hughes, 2 sons Richard L Hughes, Frankie C Hughes and stepdaughter Judy A Peterson,

Rick is survived by: Daughter Carol (Allen) Edwards, West Point UT; Sons, Kim (Nealie) Hughes, Ogden UT; Robert (Samantha) Hughes, Ogden UT; Stepdaughter Debra Gurule, Clifton CO; Stepson Kelly (Joanna) Dixon, Creston IA. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sisters, Jan Kelly, Farr West UT; Jeannie Oliver, Roy UT; Diane (Larry) McKinstry, Murray UT; Brother Frank Hughes, Ogden UT.
