Robert Adrian Brace, 89, passed away December 24, 2011. Bob was born on the 4th of July 1922, in North Bangor, NY, to William D. and Mildred T. Brace. He was the fourth of six children and grew up in Mayville, NY. Bob was married twice in his lifetime. His first wife of 32 years was Patricia Boggs with whom he had four sons. Bob served proudly in the Army during World War II and Korea and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 29 years of military service. Following a career in sales with the trucking industry in Atlanta, GA., he moved the family to Florida and realized his employment dream as the purchasing director for the Boca Raton Hotel and Club. There he met his second wife Virginia Swan. During their retired years Bob enjoyed taking road trips with Virginia, playing golf, and was an avid sports and NY Yankees fan. He as a devoted lifelong member of the Episcopal Church. Bob is survived by his sister Marian (Husband Gerald) Haskin; four sons: Bob and wife Jo, Tim and wife Kathleen, John and partner Gedde, and Chris. In addition, he has four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia, his parents, his brothers Dick and Fred, sisters, Florence ("Dutch") and Josephine (Jo). Bob will be buried in the veterans section of the Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, NY, under the direction of Freay Funeral Home.
