Sergeant First Class Robert (Bob) Christian Clark, 89, completed his final tour of duty on December 19th 2012. He was born June 18th, 1923 to Magnus and Mary Neilson Clark in Ogden, Utah. He attended Ogden High School. During his early teen years he helped his father with the family cement business. He, his father and brothers helped build many of the older homes located in Central Ogden. At the age of 19 he was drafted in the Army to fight in WWII. Over the next 29 years he served five different times during his service years. He earned many different awards including two Purple Hearts and a Silver Star. After retiring from the Army in 1971 he bought a home and settled in Riverdale, UT. Over the next 41 years he enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved camping, hunting, and fishing and took many of his nieces and nephews on different trips with him. He loved traveling and sometimes he would just jump into his trunk and camper and take off on a 2 or 3 week trip where he would go where the road took him. He loved gambling and would take week long excursions to multiple casinos. He always had luck on his side and would come home with a big wad of cash, a picture of him with his winnings and lots of stories about people he met along the way. He loved antiques and one of a kind finds. He never got married or had children of his own but he chose to step in and help his youngest sister Norma raise her two children after her husband passed away. He became honorary father to Michael C. Jensen and Patti Jensen Watkins. Then when Patti had children he stepped up and became worlds greatest grandpa to Tiffany Klug and Courtney Donehoo.Robert was preceded in death by his father Magnus Clark, mother Mary Neilson Clark, four brothers; Howard Clark, Egan (Bushy) Clark, Jim Clark and Jack Clark, four sisters; Ruby Tuck, Ellen Hastings, Mae Kariger and Norma Jensen. He was the last of the Clark siblings and he will be greatly missed, but now the Clark family is whole again. For the last two years Robert was living at Heritage Park Care Center. After a brief visit to Ogden Regional Hospital in October he was transferred to George E. Wahlen Veterans Home where he spent his final days. Roberts family would like to extend their appreciation to all of these wonderful facilities and to say "Thank You from the bottom of our hearts!" to all the caregivers who showed their love and respect to our loved one during the last years of his life.
