Robert Guy Curtis, Shag, 71, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 in Ogden, Utah. He was born August 13, 1944 in Malad, Idaho to Guy and Dorothy Jensen Curtis. He grew up in Downey working on the family farm, was involved in 4H and was a graduate of Marsh Valley High School where he participated in sports. Robert attended Utah State University and when needed moved back to Downey to work alongside his father on the farm growing wheat and barley. Robert was briefly married to Sandra Bowen and they later divorced. He married Janice Denning in 1975, they resided in Downey and for a few years owned and operated the local Chevron service station as well as helping his father on the farm. Robert developed a love for cars at an early age and was well known for his mechanical skills, was a Jack of All Trades and excelled in any endeavor. He had many people work for him over the years and never turned away anyone in need of help. He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Anne Curtis; two sons, Guy Robert Curtis and Carl Roth Curtis, all of Pocatello; three sisters, Mrs. Joy Hadley, Pocatello; Mrs. Delbert (Deanne) Christensen, American Fork, Utah; Mrs. George (Delene) Covert, Pocatello; and four grandchildren, Jordyn Kae Black, Bradley Guy Curtis, Konner Michael Curtis and Kamry Jo Curtis. He was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Dorothy Curtis; a brother-in-law, Dennis Hadley; and two nephews, Curtis Hadley and York Lowther. Per his wishes, no formal service will be held and the family invites his family and friends to attend a Celebration of his Life Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Downey Community Center, 21 South Main St., Downey, Idaho from 1 to 3 p.m., and a light lunch will be served.
