Robert Grijalva's Obituary

Robert Grijalva, 67, passed away September 30, 2019. Robert was born August 20, 1952 to Francisco T. and Dolores Moreno Grijalva in Torrance, California. Robert graduated from Sunnyvale High School. He married Joanne Elizabeth Garrison on August 19, 1999 in Orlando, Florida. Bob was an awesome son and a loving brother. Bob loved sports and played many different kinds, starting with football, then to baseball, bowling and fishing. Camping was a family thing and he enjoyed being the BBQ master at family reunions. He graduated from Sunnyvale High in California and went on to technical school. Roberts love of drawing led him into the field of Technical Illustrator which he did for 30 years, in the Bay Area of California. Thanks to his lifelong friend Karen, he met Joanne on-line, flew down to the east coast and fell in love. After meeting the love of his life Joanne, he moved to Florida and married her. Their life together was a whirlwind of fun. They had a Disney themed wedding and were married for 18 years before Joanne was called home. Bob missed her dearly. Bob and Joanne retired from their professions and started a new life with Disney World, Bob and Joanne loved everything Disney. They did reservations, security, baking, park attendant, but mostly loved people. They met a lot of people who became very good lifelong friends and a big part of Bobs life. After losing Joanne, Bob moved to Ogden, Utah and there remained with his sisters and nieces and nephews. He loved being around family and enjoyed watching the Raiders play on TV and challenged all the other team fans around him. Bob loved being with the kids and helping teach them new things to try. He assisted them with baseball tips and drawing, but most of alljust being a part of their lives. Bob touched many lives and will be truly missed. We loved him. Robert is survived by his three sisters, Rosemary Alvarez of Dos Palos, California, Terri Aguero of Ogden, Utah, and Frances Grijalva of Ogden, Utah; brother, Jose Alvarez of Dos Palos, California; a daughter Lisa Garrison-Hunter of Colorado; two grandchildren (from marriage) ,30 nephews and nieces (all his kids).
