Robert Leland Hopkins"Hoppy"No matter which name you knew him by, Robert, Bob or Hoppy, this wonderful, warm hearted person passed away at Ogden Regional Hospital on September 11, 2012.He was born to Homer L. Hopkins and Hazel Smart Hopkins on April 23, 1932 in Black Foot, Idaho. At the age of twelve he and his family moved to the Ogden area. In 1952 Hoppy joined the Air Force and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. Most of his life he was a bartender; he worked at Rays Club for many years. In 1972 he purchased the Lamplite Lounge and managed the club on and off until 2007 when he retired. In 1987 he and Dr. Tom Feeny built the Red Rock Caf in Huntsville. On September 25, 1972 he married the love of his life, Patricia Brewer. Together they enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting, traveling throughout the United States and many trips to Hawaii. Robert is survived by his wife Pat, step children: Stephanie Arnold (Terry) and Corey (Nancy) Hopkins. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Matlock Arnold, San Diego, CA. Piper (John) Merrigan, Albany, OR. and Bailey Arnold. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and niece. Crypt side services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Leavitts Aultorest Crystal Gardens Mausoleum, 836 36th Street, Ogden.A social hour will be held for family and friends at Leavitts Mortuary following the service.
