Obituary

Robert Edward Mager Jr.the man, the myth, and the legend from the valleypassed away from natural causes on March 25, 2023 surrounded by his adopted Layne family. Bob was born to Robert Edward Mager Sr. and Joanne Jewell Mager on December 11, 1941 in San Francisco, California. Bob graduated from Riordian High School, an all-boys Catholic school. While in San Francisco, he enjoyed fishing and duck hunting with his dad, going to the rodeo with his cousins, and just all out having a good time. He worked at and retired from Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) Company of California. He then moved to Utah where he bought property in Huntsville, built a cabin, and made his dreams a reality by doing all the things that he loved. He loved his German Shepards, hunting, fishing, and raising mules, in which he won many state fairs and competitions. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nance Brown and brother in laws: Tom Brown and Ken Pors. He is survived by his sister, Beverly (BeBe) Mager of Penngrove, California. When you first met Bob he might have seemed ornery, but he really wasnt - just extremely shy. If you were lucky enough to break the shyness you would have found a guy with a heart of gold, a friend for life! Bob will be sorely missed by those who loved him most. "See you at the last round-up!!" Memorial services will be held in the summer with details to come at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Community Services or a charity of your choice. A special thanks to Carl & Paula Califino, the Pineview and Lotus Park staff, and A+ Hospice Services who took such good care of Bob.
