Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rob to an accidental drowning on the evening of August 3, 2024, at Willard Bay.

Robert Lee Mittendorf was born October 6, 1972, and was the first son of Steven Wayne and JoEllen Mittendorf. Rob was born and raised in Ogden, Utah and attended Bonneville High School, class of 1991.

He is survived by his mother JoEllen, father Steve, son Brody, grandson Malachi, brothers Mike and Brian (Bianca), sister Wendy, and nieces Maya, Ella and Vivien Mittendorf.

Rob was an avid snow and water skier. He learned to ski at the age of 4 at Nordic Valley and later went on to be a member of the Snow Basin Ski Team, specializing in downhill skiing. There was never a run he couldn't conquer, "Tips down, go fast," was his motto. Rob enjoyed the family trips to Lake Powell where he would water ski sunup to sun down if he could find someone to drive the boat. He loved the mountains and being outdoors.

Rob was a hard worker, a jack of trades. He spent most of his career in the construction field, and always found time to help others out.

Being a new grandpa was very special for him. He loved the time he spent with his grandson Malachi. Rob and his son Brody also had a unique and special relationship, very seldom did you see one without the other. We take solace in the fact that he spent his last moments with the person he loved most.

Rob is at peace now. He will be missed but always remembered.

Rob's Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday August 31, 2024, from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post located on 907 W. 12th St. in Ogden. All who knew and loved Rob are invited to come and celebrate Rob's life with his family.
