Robert John Newman, 82, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Robert was born November 27, 1931 in Pleasant Grove, Utah son of Frank Byrd Newman and Edna Holdaway. He married LuDean Adams, November 27, 1952. They were blessed with three daughters, she later passed away. On October 27, 1973 he married A. Jean Kemp in Las Vegas, NV; their marriage was later solemnized in the Timpanogos Temple. Together they raised six children. Bob had served as an MP in the Army during the Korean War and received an Honorable Medical Discharge. Bob had a great singing voice in his younger years; he sang in the Messiah. He had a distinguished career in management in the transportation industry. Throughout Bobs life he loved to serve his fellowman. He loved camping and sharing these memories and good times with his family. He later enjoyed serving his community at Leavitts Mortuary. Robert was an active High Priest in the Pleasant Valley 4th Ward. He held many callings in his ward. Robert is survived by his sweetheart, Jean; five daughters and one son; Debra (Dan) Martin, Evanston, WY., Beverly (Mike) Riess, Redondo Beach, CA., John D. Newman, South Ogden, UT., Barbara (Steve) Bliss, Salt Lake City, UT., Pamela (Larry) Thorson, Springville, UT., Bethanie (Curtis) Dansie, Savage, MN., and his faithful companion, Lucy Lu. Also surviving are, 19 Grandchildren, 42 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. The family would like to thank CNS Hospice for their loving care of Bob.
