Robert Kenneth Potter, 74, passed away peacefully in his sleep April 19, 2013 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born September 15, 1938 in Grand Rapids, MI. The son of Wilbur and Ellen Potter. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Potter, six brothers; William Potter, Phillip Potter, Adrian Potter, Jerry Potter, Don Potter and David Potter; two sisters; Carol Essenbagger and Glenna Swofford ; 5 step children; Brian Osberg, Linda Higgins, Richard Osberg, Tammy Pelton, and Kim Harper; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He worked in the oil fields, Chevron Corporation and Roy City Corporation. He received a Mayoral Recognition at his celebration of life dinner, honoring his distinguished service to the citizens of Roy City for his inspiration to the Parks Department. Admired for his strong work ethic, appreciation of the public and dedication to team work. He was an amazing storyteller, loved to build and remodel, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Friends may pay their respects at the Potter home on Saturday, April 27th from 1-3pm. The family would like to express their thanks to the Harmony House Hospice staff.Cremation under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
