Our sweet mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend Roberta Marie Brown Smith passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 1, 2017, at her home in Pleasant View, Utah with her family by her side. Roberta was born on July 27, 1943, in Hollywood, California with her twin brother, Robert to parents Vera and John Edward Brown. They later moved to Ogden, Utah in 1945 where Vera raised her children Jimmy, Robert, Mary, Pearl, Johnny, and Valerie. Roberta graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1961 and later met the love of her life and husband Richard Smith in 1966 and married March 28th that year. They celebrated 51-1/2 years unconditional love and marriage together. Roberta succeeded in many professional roles over her 74 years, but her most successful achievement was in the role of loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Roberta is survived by her husband, Richard; her children Richie, Jason and Natalie (Knudson); sisters Pearl and Butch Clawson, Valerie and Larry Hegland; brothers Robert and Brenda Brown and Johnny and Fran Brown; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Roberta is preceded in death by her mother, Vera Hiatt, her father, John Edward Brown, brother, Jim Brown and her sister Mary Hamblin. Funeral Services will be held at Leavitts Mortuary, 836-36th St., Ogden, UT on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, from 5 to 8 pm with a private graveside service on Wednesday at Brigham City Cemetery. Our family would like to thank her sisters and brothers for their love and dedication and for bringing joy, lightness, and laughter to her and to us every day. We would also like to thank the many doctors and nurses from One Care Home Health and Hospice especially Kristy Burnett, Haile Dobbins Shafter and Tina Nichols who looked after her so carefully and lovingly.
