Rodney Herbert's Obituary

November 21, 2014 will always be remembered as a "Hard Days Night." Rod listened to "Let It Be", his last Beatles song; while cashing in his "Ticket To Ride." And while he didnt quite make it to "64" he journeyed down "A Long and Winding Road" and is peacefully resting in "Strawberry Fields Forever." "This Boy" was born on September 21, 1952 to Harry LeVaun Herbert and Margaret Hodgson. Some highlights during Rods "Magical Mystery Tour" include graduating from Weber High in 1970 "With A Little Help From His Friends." He said "Love Me Do" to" One and One Is Two" Pam Eggelston and later to Janae Burnett. He worked at HAFB for 23 years until he had the thought "Run For Your Life" and retired at the age of 55. "Rock and Roll Music" was truly the love of his life. He felt "Free As A Bird" every second he played his guitar. "A Day In The Life" of Rod consisted of warm cups of coffee, "Bad Boy" cigarettes, PT Cruisers, and tinkering on projects with "Maxwells Silver Hammer." It wasnt a "Good Night" unless he was relaxing in his recliner, eating ice cream and watching movies. There was never such a thing as "Too Much Monkey Business" because of his great sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh. He was always willing to "Help!" his family and friends with "Every Little Thing." I could write a bunch of "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" about Rod but the most important thing to know about him is that even though he did "Carry That Weight" of the world he never lost the belief that "All You Need Is Love." "All Together Now" survivors include Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, one sister Cathy (Bob) Nelson, two daughters Summer (Brett) Naisbitt and Niki (Michael) Brown, one son Brady (Annette) Herbert and his little "Sea Of Monsters" (8 grandkids). The ones that passed "Long, Long, Long" before Rod are George Harrison, John Lennon, his parents, two brothers Bryant Herbert and Fred Herbert, and his sister Margo Delcambre. Let us all "Come Together" to celebrate "The End" of Rods journey at Leavitts Mortuary, 836-36th St., Ogden on Friday, November 28th from 6:00-8:00 pm as well as one hour prior to his memorial.
