Rodney Dee Kennedy of Ogden, Utah passed away on April 24, 2026.

Rod was born on March 28, 1939, in Ogden, Utah. After Rod graduated from Ogden High School in 1957, he enlisted in the Army Reserves where he served for six years. In between the Army Reserves, Rod studied Electrical Training and graduated as an Electrician in 1963, then later became Master Electrician in 1971.

On May 25, 1963, Rod married Arlene Elizabeth Atencio in Elko, Nevada. Rod and Arlene went on to have three children, Brett, Kirk and Trisha. Rod and Arlene were married for 59 years until her death November 30, 2022.

In 2001, Rod retired after 38 years with IBEW Local #354.

Rod was predeceased by his beloved wife Arlene, son Brett and his granddaughter, Amber. Also, his siblings; Glen, Glenna, Jerry and Joan.

He is survived by his son Kirk Kennedy (Andrea), daughter Trisha Kennedy, grandchildren; Chase Wadman, Talia Kennedy, Jerica Kennedy, Derek Kennedy, Sean Kennedy and Khloe Kennedy. Also, his brothers, Dewayne Jacobsen (Debbie) and Denny Jacobsen (Julene).

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Symbii Home Health and Hospice. Particularly Jamie Wilson, Janis Nelson and Carli Thompson, their care and support they gave Rod was as if they were caring for their own loved one.

Services will be held privately with the immediate family with Military Honors.
