Roland Walter Daniels BrownRoland Brown passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon in Idaho Falls, Idaho of natural causes at the home of his daughter surrounded by family and loved ones. Roland was born January 14, 1924 to Almon Dell and Eva Geddes Brown in their home in Farr West, Utah. Roland was a graduate of Weber High and attended Weber College completing and graduating from the University of Utah. He married the love of his life Florence Laverna Crowther on November 19, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple.Roland worked for Ogden City Schools, General Mills, later retiring from Hill Air Force Base where he had worked for many years. Roland enjoyed camping, hunting in his early years, playing cards with friends and family, playing ping pong and golf. Most of all he loved to help others. He was always very thoughtful and generous beyond measure. He is survived by; Karen (Kenneth) Higginbothm, Alan (Colleen) Brown, Lynn Brown (Sandy Sutherland), Connie Atkinson/Opperman, 18 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.Roland was preceded in death by his loving wife Florence, 4 brothers, 1 sister, 2 sons-in-law and 1 great-grandchild. A viewing will be held Friday, January 27, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Funeral Services will be held the following day Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the LDS chapel on 3755 Porter Avenue in Ogden. Friends and family may visit with the family one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will follow at Ogden City Cemetery.
