Loving Mother and Grandmother, Roma Elizabeth Lusk Byerly, Granny, 68, passed away May 11, 2011, with her family by her side. Although she passed away in Ogden, Utah, she always considered Montana home. Roma was born in Texas on April 26, 1943, to Art and Mary Lusk. She was raised on a cattle ranch near Hysham, MT, where she met her high school sweetheart, Gordon Ray Byerly. Gordon was working for her dad and after a short time, it didnt take long before he asked for her hand in marriage. They were married on August 20, 1960, spent all of their married life in Montana raising three children. They celebrated 43 years of marriage before Gordon passed away in 2004, at which time, Roma moved to Utah to be closer to her family.Roma was an active and devoted member of her church. She was a talented artist and quilter and enjoyed gardening, collecting clown memorabilia, playing cards, and spending time with her loved ones.She is survived by her 3 children: JA Byerly, Anaheim CA, Sindi Byerly Hasler, N Ogden UT and Mitch Byerly, Los Angeles CA. She will also be missed by her surviving grandchildren, Sari Byerly, Jessica Hasler, Ashley Hasler, Elizabeth Gates, Casey Byerly, and Stacey Byerly and her great-grandchildren Abby, Megan, Elli, and Emerson.Roma is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Byerly, her parents, Art and Mary Lusk, and her great-grandson, Gage Gates.Funeral arrangements are being made by Leavitts Mortuary, Ogden, UT. A memorial service will be held at the Comfort Suite, 2250 S 1200 W at 1:00 pm in Ogden on May 29, 2011. A memorial and burial service will be held on July 3, 2011 in Billings, Montana. Memorials may be made in Romas name to the American Diabetes Association.
