Rose Margaret LovatoRoy, Utah-Rose Margaret Lovato, 82, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.On September 26, 1928, mom was born to Abdon Benita Olivas in Park View New Mexico. Mom grew up in Los Ojos, New Mexico and graduated from Tierra Amarilla High School where she excelled both academically and in sports with her favorite being basketball. Mom married Julian R. Lovato in Park View, New Mexico on October 25, 1948 and together started a family of seven children. Mom and dad moved to Ogden, Utah in 1966. Mom was a proud mother and homemaker never working outside of the home until 1978. Mom believed that children were a gift from God and that we should always be grateful for the time we have with them.Mom worked at the Ogden Clinic and retired after 18 years of service. Mom had a very strong work ethic and was proud of the patients she helped and friendships she made at work.Mom had many passions including watching the Utah Jazz, playing Bingo, Wendover trips and reading. You could always hear her cheering the loudest at her grandchildrens games. Mom was a generous person and always made sure one never went without.Mom is survived by her husband of 62 years and their six children, Diana (Phil) Montano, Roy; Richard Lovato, Ogden; Ruben (Shirley) Lovato, Ogden; Allen (Ellen) Lovato, Clearfield; Dolores (Mike) Laure, Roy; Martin (Kimberly) Lovato, Riverdale; 30 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.Mom was preceded in death by a son Julian R. Lovato Jr.; her parents; a brother Abdon Olivas Jr.; a granddaughter Jeana Lovato; and a special son-in-law George Laure.A viewing will be held at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street on Tuesday May 3, 2011 from 6-7 p.m. with a Celebration of Life from 7-8 p.m. followed by Holy Rosary at 8:00 p.m. Family will also greet friends at Leavitts Mortuary Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to funeral mass.
