Obituary

Rowene Hoffmann Visser was born to Helen Miller and Wendell Herman Hoffmann on January 18, 1940, she gave cancer one hell of a fight and passed away Saturday March 15, 2025 surrounded by her children. She is leaving a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering determination. As the eldest of six children, her childhood was a canvas painted with vibrant experiences, including playful yet mischievous memories with her siblings and learning valuable life skills from her parents—cooking and baking from her mom and gardening from her dad. The family farm taught her resilience and a keen attention to detail.

A bright student, Rowene was proud of her academic achievements, consistently earning straight A's. At just 14, she met the love of her life, Theodore Heber Visser, and after 3 years of courtship, they married and began their life together in a cozy apartment in South Ogden, Utah. Her husband built a home for their growing family in Roy, Utah, where they created lifelong memories. After his untimely passing, Rowene moved to South Weber, where she formed cherished friendships, and eventually settled in North Ogden.

Rowene's children—Lynn (Toni) Visser, Tab (Lisa) Visser, Tresa (Mark) Bertlshofer, Natalie (Greg, who resides in heaven) Jensen, and Heather (Paul) Christensen—were her pride and joy. She was also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 20+ great-grandchildren. Her family and extended family were her greatest blessings, and she often said the reunion on the other side with those who preceded her, including her beloved husband (who has been awaiting her arrival for 38 years) and parents, would be a joyous occasion.

One of Rowene's greatest passions was dancing. She enjoyed ballroom dancing for over 20 years, and her favorite line dance was the "Boot Scootin' Boogie," reflecting her lively spirit and love for movement.

An entrepreneur at heart, Rowene co-founded multiple businesses, including the Visser Service Station, Mom's Bakery, R County Fair Restaurant, Crystal Room, IR Silk Plants, Bridal Satin, Hoffmann Health and Research, and DynaPro International. Her ventures showcased her business intellect and passion for creativity.

Rowene embraced a love for travel early on, a passion that only intensified after the passing of her husband. Committed to making lasting memories with her children, she traveled extensively, leaving no corner of the globe unexplored. Her belief in the importance of family was unwavering, ensuring those bonds were always nurtured.

Rooted deeply in family traditions, Rowene enjoyed making Christmas candy with her children and grandchildren, a cherished practice passed down from her mother. These sweet moments symbolized her love for family and celebration.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rowene demonstrated her faith through regular temple service and for a period of time attended weekly for 17 years. She cherished exploring various temples with friends, finding peace and community in each sacred visit. Her generous spirit and compassion were evident through her service, including notable missions at Temple Square and the Harrisville Cannery.

Rowene possessed a true zest for life—decorating her home inside and out for holidays; especially her snowman, maintaining her yard with beautiful flowers and playful décor, and always having a to-do list at hand. Her determination was unmatched; she was a firm believer in doing things promptly and perfectly.

To all who knew her, Rowene was an inspiration—a friend, mentor, and cherished companion. Her legacy of love, compassion, and resilience will continue to live on in the hearts of many.
