Ruby Katherine Christensen MillerRuby Katherine Christensen Miller, 92, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011. She was born March 8, 1919 to Sophus and Sophia Miller Christensen in Omaha, Nebraska. She moved to Evanston, Wyoming as a small child. She graduated from Evanston High School. She then went to work for Blyth Fargo, prior to her marriage to Daniel John Miller, on August 27, 1940, in Evanston, Wyoming. They moved to Ogden at that time. He died July 23, 1966.She worked for Grant F. Kearns M.D. as a Medical Assistant for many years. She had a great love for his patients and their families. Even after many years they still remember her and when she sees them they will come and talk. Ruby was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and worked on the Attic committee. She was a past member of Miriam Chapter #14 O.E.S. She also belonged to a Birthday Club that was started in 1945. She loved her friends in the club and they had many fun times together. She was the last living member. She loved her family, her home and her church. She took pride in her home and family. She loved family parties. Everyone looked forward to our picnic in her backyard on July 4th. It was always a treat having her with us on holidays. She leaves behind a legacy of getting involved and caring for others. Always love your family and put them first. Were so thankful to have had a Mom/Grandma who has left us with so many memories. Ruby is survived by two sons, Daniel Jr. (Kathy) Miller, Farr West, and Reed Miller, Rigby, ID., a sister Pearl Squire, Gridley, CA. and a brother Paul Christensen, Newville, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Miller, daughter Karen Doe, grandson Reed Miller Jr., her parents and brother Arnold Christensen. We would like to thank her special friend Luana Child, for all the years of fun times they had together. We would also like to thank Reverend Nancy Groshart for all the visits that helped Ruby so much. She really looked forward to them. A special thank you to Manor Care Center, Washington Terrace Care Center, and the Gardens for all the care given to our Mom. We appreciate you all. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 2374 Grant Ave, Ogden. Friends and family will meet one hour prior to the services at the church. Inurnment will be held after the funeral services at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
