Obituary

Ruby Mae Moffat, 93, passed away April 9, 2012; she was born December 23, 1918 to James T. LuLa Mae Moffat in Afton, Wyoming. Ruby graduated from Star Valley High School.Rubys first job was in Logan, Utah working as a Dental Assistant. She then went to Kemmer, Wyoming to work for J.C. Penney. She moved to Davenport, Iowa, where she married Raymond L. Black, and they operated a bowling alley. They moved to Kaysville, Utah in 1954 and operated the "Twin Pines Tavern." After the passing of Ray Black, she married Richard S. Hennefer in Alpine, Wyoming at the Flying Saddle on July 28, 1956. Ruby also worked at the Clearfield Job Corps., the Flight Line Cafe at Hill Air Force Base and Bartons Shoe Store in Bountiful. After retiring they moved in 1983 to Lake Havasu they then returned to Kaysville, Utah in 1986. Ruby enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She didnt even mind pulling weeds, and frequently visiting her childrens houses to pull theirs. She also loved to decorate, her Christmas tree was something to behold. She loved to watch her grandchildren and enjoyed their company. Ruby was a member of the LDS Church, holding several positions. She is survived by 1 brother, 3 sisters, and 4 children; Steven J. Black (Linda), Deborah M. (Black) Jackson, Kyle R. Hennefer, Brett L. Hennefer (Tina), 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.Ruby was preceded in death by her husbands Raymond L. Black and Richard S. Hennefer, and grandson Steven J. Black Jr. A memorial service for Ruby will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
