Russell Ivan Olsen, 90, passed away May 25, 2017.Born August 26, 1926 to Ivan Demont and Gladys Aileen Jones in Preston, Idaho.Russell married Vivian Lee Gardner on October 9, 1954. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on May 29, 1961. Together they raised four children; Randy Lee, Christine, Ileen and Keith Russell; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.Russell graduated from Preston High School and enlisted in the Army during the Korean War. He completed trade school where he learned to be a machinist. He worked at Marquardt, Thiokol and retired from Hill AFB.He and Vivian loved road trips and spent many hours finding the most scenic routes. He also liked anything western, especially John Wayne.In his later years, he loved taking rides and talking about history and childhood memories.Russell is preceded in death by his spouse, parents, and one brother.Graveside Services will be Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00AM at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah with a viewing from 10:00AM - 10:45AM.
