IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruth
Reading
November 23, 1932 – December 10, 2025
We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Ruth Reading. She was everything to us, and we will miss her forever.
Ruth was born in Ogden, Utah on November 23, 1932, to Walter M. Bachman and Vivian I. Monson. She graduated from Ogden High School. She met and married the love of her life, Robert P. Reading, and together they had four children.
Ruth devoted her early years to raising children. She later went to work at Mervyn's, where she was in management. She loved her job and especially enjoyed working with people. At the age of 27, she survived cancer, an experience that helped shape her into the strong, resilient woman she became.
She was a creative cook and seamstress, and she was always thinking of others. She made treats and delivered them to friends as long as she was able. A woman of great faith, she loved everyone and was loved deeply. Most of all, and in her own words, her family loved her "to forever and back."
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Raylene. She is survived by her children, Ron Reading, Cindi Ward, Teresa Mohr (Robert); her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister Susie Bailey.
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Interment will be located at Washington Heights Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Independent Home Health and Hospice, especially Jessie and Natalia, for compassion and kindness. Their support brought comfort to all of us.
