Age 80. On Thursday, November 11, at 2:00 a.m. Mom’s heart stopped beating and she was finally released from her pain and suffering into the awaiting arms of her husband whom she missed so dearly.
Ruth was born St. Anthony Idaho on June 25, 1941, to Jick and Ruby Hall. She was the thirteenth of thirteen children. She graduated from Weber High in 1959. December of 1963, she married Don Wayne Nielsen (later divorced). In 1964 their daughter Shelly was born.
On May 17, 1969, she married the love of her life, Russell J. Ware, after 6 long weeks of dating. Russ and Ruth loved spending time together, they were rarely apart. One of their favorite things to do was camp and fish. Every summer they loved searching around the state for a new fishing hole. They also loved spending time with their blended family, especially their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They had a special relationship with every one of them. They made sure that each and every one of them knew how much they were loved, never forgetting a birthday or Christmas gift. They were together for 43 years until Russ passed away in 2012. The time without him took a toll on Mom, she never recovered from the loss. What a reunion that must have been.
Ruth was a great cook and talented seamstress and kept an immaculate home and yard. She worked in the insurance industry for many years and rarely missed a day of work. She was a perfectionist, often an overachiever had a smart, quick wit, healthy temper, and was as stubborn as they come. She loved to discuss politics and was passionate about defending her opinion, the more heated the debate, the more she enjoyed it.
Mom loved celebrating holidays, especially Christmas. She loved to go shopping for gifts, she could spend hours in a mall. Mom absolutely loved to bake and was well known for her Christmas cookie trays. She would prepare large trays with homemade cookies and baked goods every year for family. Her raisin-filled cookies being the most popular. She put an enormous amount of energy, thought, and time into every gift. She loved wrapping the gifts and would put copious amounts of tape and ribbon on each and every one. She would smile and laugh as you struggled with excitement trying to open your gift. Her Holiday spirit and generosity will be greatly missed. She will be so deeply missed and never forgotten.
Ruth was proceeded in death by her husband Russell Ware, parents Jick and Ruby Hall, brothers Clifton, Ray, Keith, and Wayne. Sisters Leda, Thelma, and Nola. Stepdaughter Debbie Lynn Jesus, stepson Kevin Reed Ware and great grand granddaughter Rustie Ware. She is survived by her sister Rada Kowallis, stepsons; Scott (Chris) Ware, Todd (Kim) Ware, daughter Shelly (Rob) Snyder, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Sincere appreciation goes to the nurses and staff and McKay-Dee Hospital for their patience and care in helping our mom and us through this journey. Also, to Scott and Chris Ware and their family for being there for her. Sacrificing so much time and energy caring for her and showing her so much love. Her life was better because of you.
