Ryan David Probert, 42, passed away July 26, 2017. Ryan was born March 24, 1975, to Debera and David Probert in Vernal, Utah. Ryan graduated from Weber High School on June 3, 1993. Ryans first-grade teacher wrote a letter saying, Ryan has been a friend to everyone. This was a perfect description of how Ryan lived his life. He was a fun-loving, compassionate, and an all-around good buddy. After graduating from Weber High School, Ryan helped set up a group home for Avatar Inc. in Sacramento, California. He was passionate about training, hiring and assisting the director with residential caregiving. In 1994, he received an Employee of the Month award and a prestigious Recognition Award from the Special Olympics director. Ryan lived a life full of adventure and exploration. He loved taking family trips to Lake Powell where he enjoyed cliff diving and knee boarding. The cowboy in him also loved riding horses with his grandpa and watching his favorite TV show, Little House on the Prairie. He was also very proud of his Native American heritage and membership in the Chinook tribe. In July of 2016, Ryan suffered a catastrophic accident, which left him dealing with overwhelming health challenges. During this ordeal, he demonstrated tremendous courage and determination in order to adjust to his new life. Through it all, he remained a beloved friend, son, brother, and grandson. Ryan is survived by his parents; Debera and David Probert of Pleasant View, Utah; sisters, Brenda Maviano and Stephanie Rennie; brother, Devan William Probert; grandparents, Ronald Smith and Shirley Probert; nieces and nephew, Jessica, Sofia and Sonny Maviano, and Eilish and Brigid Rennie. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 6:00 8:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah and a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Scipio City Cemetery in Scipio, Utah.
