Sengvilay Phaysounlaphong was 65 years young when she passed away peacefully at home. She was born on April 20, 1961 in Savannakheth, Laos. She was the cherished child of parents, Boualien and Toum Chunlamontri.

Sengvilay spent her life making memories everywhere they went, always the anchor for those she loved. No matter a career path she chose, her true passion was her family.

She had a gift for making memories anywhere she went, turning every ordinary day into special occasion. Whether sharing a quiet moment at home or embarking on an adventure, her bright energy and generous spirit left a lasting mark on everyone she met.

In March 2023, she was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. True to her vibrant spirit, she faced the diagnosis with immense grace and courage, refusing to let it overshadow her love for life and her dedication to her family. Even as the cancer began to rapidly spread in March of 2026, her focus remained entirely on shielding her family with warmth and sharing precious moments together. She fought a brave and quiet battle until her final moments, passing away peacefully on September 19, 2026.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Kongsy Phaysounlaphong and all her children, Venepeth, Phitsamone, Steven, Bobby and Tommy; and a beautifully growing family of daughter-in-law and grandchildren. She is joined in peace with her late parents and grandparents.

Her love, laughter and stories will live on forever in the hearts of the family she built. 

A viewing will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026 located at Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the same location.
