Shane Mariani's Obituary

Our beloved brother, uncle, son, father and friend Shane Mariani returned home to be with his mother on June 17, 2016. He was born May 6, 1967 to Larry and Sharon Mariani in Ogden, UT. Shane graduated from Bonneville High School in 1985. He attended Weber State University where he was a member of the Beta Theta Phi Fraternity. He married his high school sweetheart Michelle VanMeeteren; they later divorced. Shane was a free-spirit and had many adventures. He loved spending time with friends, snow skiing, Lake Powell and Jimmy Buffet concerts. He enjoyed living in California with his dog, C.J. He could often be found jet skiing, riding his motorcycle or at a dog beach. Shane wore his heart on his sleeve. A loving soul who had a way of lighting up a room with his smile and good natured friendly way. He was a magnet to both children and animals. His greatest accomplishment and biggest joy in life was becoming a father to his son, Boston. Shanes face would light up every time he would talk about him. He loved to spend time with his little best friend. Although Shanes time on earth was cut short, he touched many lives. He leaves behind his 3 year old son, Boston and many friends and family members who will always cherish their memories of him. He is survived by his step-father, Bruce (Janie) Bowman; brother, Darin (Trina) Mariani; sister, Kristin Bowman Cheresne; step-brothers, Scott (Christi) Bowman and Bryan Bowman; and his son, Boston Mariani (Julie Hiskett).
