Sharlet N. Drake

Sharlet Drake was born April 8, 1962, to Walter Reeves and Lucy Frazier Donaldson in Ogden Utah. On May 27, 1993, she married Jerry Drake. He was the love of her life.

Sharlet was beautiful with a smile that could light up any room. People were drawn to her, and her spirit could uplift anyone. She was a mentor, a problem solver and a voice of reason to so many.

Sharlet worked for the government for 35 years. Along the way she made many lifelong friends and those who knew her couldn't help but love her.

Sharlet is survived by two sons: Demitrius (Sherry) Nelson and Derrick Taylor, two daughters: Katrina and Emily Drake, 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, and a special niece Shevonne Nelson. She had a heart for children, and her grandkids meant everything to her. Her oldest granddaughter, Brianna held a very special place in her heart. She is also survived by her sisters; Gloria and Ulonder, and three brothers; Ernest, Sidney, and Anthony.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother Richard, son D.K., and daughter Alex.

Sharlet was a light in darkness and the glue that held her family together. She is loved and will be greatly missed. We will hold tight to the memories until we meet again.

A Viewing will be held on Thursday January 20, 2022, at Leavitts mortuary at 836 36th Street, Ogden Utah from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will take place Friday January 21, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing from 1:00-1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
