IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shaunette
Hayes
February 21, 1967 – December 22, 2023
LAYTON- Our dear loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at home with her husband, daughter, and future son-in-law by her side at the age of 56. She was born on February 21st, 1967, to Lester and Jean Lauritsen. Shaunette graduated from Woods Cross High in 1985. She married her best friend, Chuck Hayes on May 11, 1996. Together they started their family with their 6 children: Mayleen, Daisy, Greg, Autumn, Giovanni, and Jeanie.
She was always someone who could make you laugh and could always find the humor in both the good and hard times. Whenever her kids or family needed a helping hand, she would always try to find a way to be there, whether it was a phone call, physically or through a gesture of kindness.
Her artwork was her passion and something she took tremendous joy in. It was an outlet and escape, especially throughout her battles with health. She never made it to her dream of New York to do art but some of her artwork did.
Shaunette was known for her contagious laugh, smile and trademark dimples. She taught everyone around her the importance and need to be in the moment through her ability to instantly break down barriers and connect with them. Whether it was a complete stranger or a loved one, you would always walk away knowing Shaunette cared, listened and you were her priority.
Shaunette is proceeded in death by her father, Lester and mother, Jean. She is survived by her husband, Chuck; brother, Allen; and sister, Alisa. She is also survived by her six children, and ten grandchildren. She will be forever missed.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 6th from 6pm-8pm at Leavitt's Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT.
