NORTH OGDEN - Sheila Yates Adams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 in North Ogden at her home. She was born November 7, 1949 in Rigby, Idaho to Thomas Harper Yates and Muriel Morris. She grew up in Idaho Falls, graduated from Rigby High School, completed a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University, and earned a teaching certificate in Elementary Education. Sheila married her eternal companion Richard Adams May 25th, 1991. The greatest joys in Sheilas life were being the mother to three children, step-mother to three children, and grandmother to seventeen grandchildren. Sheila was a compassionate person who loved to serve others, whether it was in her chosen profession of elementary education or through service opportunities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She fulfilled a church service mission at the Family History Center in Ogden, and also loved working with the children and young women in the Primary and Young Women organizations of the church. Sheila had the ability to find joy and laughter in her life despite the many challenges she faced. Her greatest gift was to love others unconditionally and help them feel of that joy and laughter that was so innately a part of her. She is survived by her children: Ashton (Elizabeth) Byington, Ron (Staysha) Barranco, Burk (Allyson) Adams, Bret Adams, and Cindy Hartman; 17 Grandchildren; Sisters: Judith Decker and Beverly Clark; and Brothers: Richard Yates and Morris Yates.
