Shelly Lynn Cochran

September 9, 1951 — July 21, 2022

Shelly Lynn Cochran

Shelly Lynn Cochran, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, friend, and confidant, peacefully passed from this life and returned to our father in heaven, at the age of 70 surrounded by her loving family on July 21, 2022, at 1:19 PM.

Shelly was born on September 9th, 1951, in Ogden, Utah to her parents Glenn and Gaile Harper. She was the first daughter, number 5 of 11 children. Shelly spent much of her childhood, growing up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before moving back to Utah and graduating from Orem High School. She then was married shortly after and began her life as a mother to three children.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints and served many callings including her favorite, teaching the primary children.

She worked for the phone company for 17 years and various other jobs including her favorite, a substitute teacher at the Valley elementary school in the town that held her heart, Huntsville Utah.

Knowing Shelly was to be blessed with knowing a true friend. She was the honest example of unconditional love and understanding. She dedicated her life to being a mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother up until her last days. Nothing brought her more joy than to be surrounded by family, friends and especially children. Generosity was her greatest feat. She would be willing to give you the shirt off her back while still maintaining the highest degree of modesty. She could make light of almost any situation with her never ending jokes and infectious laugh, that would often have the whole room rolling.

Because she loved to be around family, naturally her favorite time of year was Christmas. Her face would light up with a twinkle in her eye when Christmas time was near. She would have loved for Christmas to be year-round but settled for decorating the day after Halloween, and sometimes leaving it out to the end of February, while still listening to her favorite Christmas tunes the whole year though, to keep the spirit of Christmas, alive in the hearts of those around her.

Above anything else she loved her beloved father in heaven and was a great example of what it means to be a Latter-Day Saint. She was impossible not to love, and we will miss her dearly until we meet again.

Shelly is survived by her three children and their spouses Camie & (Alden) Brunson, Jenny & (Brandon) Cox, and Josh & (Daribett) Cochran. 10 siblings and their spouses Dennis & (Diane), Rick, Kelly, Rock & (Sandy), David & (Linda), Tim & (Lesley), Suzanne & (Tilo), and Shari Harper, and special sister-in-law Renee Harper. 6 Grandchildren Asha Biggs, Daysha Allen, Cade Cox, Brandon Brunson, Casey Brunson, Shania Chadwick and seven great-grandchildren with more on the way.

She is preceded in death by her Father Glenn Renaldo Harper and Mother Gaile Renstrom (Harper) two brothers Terry Harper, and Kevin Harper and one great Grandson Brody Randon Chadwick.

A special thanks to Enhabit Hospice Care for their loving help and care in her final days.

She was such a special gift to us all. Thank you, God, for her sweet, kind and loving spirit. We will Cherish and treasure each and every wonderful memory of the life she shared with us.

Goodbye Grandma, Goodbye Nana Hottie, Goodbye Granny, see you soon, Bye Mom.
