It is with extreme sadness that my beautiful daughter, Shelly Arave Olsen passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014. She was born June 21, 1963 in Ogden, Utah to Leon F. and Sheryll (Amidan) Arave. We have lost a very special member of our family. She was the youngest of six siblings.
Shelly was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and a friend to all. The old clich, "she was beautiful inside and out," rings so true for Shelly. She was the sweetest in spirit, with a magnificent heart, and a smile that created smiles for others. She graduated from Bonneville High School and was baptized a member of the LDS church. She worked at Ogden Regional Hospital as a phlebotomist and for many years at El Matador.
Shellys greatest accomplishment in her life was her son Josh, and her granddaughter Kenley. She is survived by her mother, Sheryll (Amidan) Arave, her son and granddaughter, Josh and Kenley Olsen, brothers, Lonnie Arave and Bret Arave (Shelly), sisters, Julie Roth (Scott) and Cheri Howell. She was preceded in death by her father, Leon F. Arave, brother, Lex Arave, daughter, Karly, and grandparents.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Rob Mohr and Abby, RN at Hearts for Hospice. There will be a Celebration of Shellys Life on Monday, December 1, 2014 from 2p.m. to 5p.m., at Leavitts Mortuary 836 - 36th street, Ogden, Utah.
