Shirley D. Cassiere, 82, of Riverdale, UT passed away peacefully at her home after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia on February 5, 2015. She was born February 26, 1933 to Flynt and June Hard. Shirley married Peter Cassiere in Vallejo, CA on September 6, 1953. Peter passed away October 9, 2013.
Shirley attended Chaffey College in San Bernadino, CA. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at nursing homes and took over 36 foster children and 4 AFS students,
Shirley leaves behind a strong and loving family: Lynnette Curtis (John), IA, Lex Cassiere, AZ, Michelle Cassiere-Bick (MatthewI) Riverdale , UT; ten grandchildren: Amy Cassiere, Wesley Cassiere (Michaela), Lex L. Cassiere, Debbie Cassiere, Johnny Curtis, Bobby Curtis, Ryan Bick, Christian Bick, London Bick and LaRee DeSpain Peterson; two great grandchildren: Conner and Jackson Cassiere and countless foster children.
Funeral Services will not be held: however, please have a toast in Shirleys honor and know that she loved all of you.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Shirley, the family asks that you instead consider spending time with an older one in need or perhaps giving a fulltime caregiver a much needed break.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Applegate Hospice, CNA Lisa, RN Tiffany, and caregivers Jamie Andersen and Paula Gilgen Webb who cared for Shirley and gave her respect, dignity, love and care. Also a very special hug to Debbie, Conner and Jackson who were sent to Shirley and the family when they needed them the most.
