In Loving Memory of Sofia Molina Serrano
Our beautiful mother, Sofia Molina Serrano, passed away peacefully in the early hours of June 9, 2026.
Sofia was born on January 10, 1965, in Juárez, Mexico, to Virginia Herrera and Jose Molina. She was raised in Los Angeles, California, where she met the love of her life, her "Honey," Sergio Serrano, and began her journey into motherhood.
Later, she moved to Texas, where she raised her growing family and created countless cherished memories. It was there that she introduced us to Chico's Tacos, family gatherings, and "talacha" time—moments that became treasured traditions. After many years in Texas, Sofia and her family settled in Utah, where they purchased their first home and planted lasting roots.
Our mother's home was always open to everyone. Family, friends, and neighbors were welcomed with love, warmth, and a home-cooked meal. She had a gift for bringing people together, and everyone who knew her enjoyed her cooking and generous spirit.
Sofia was a devoted mother who always made sure dinner was on the table and that her children were cared for before herself. Her love was unconditional, her heart was selfless, and her greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her loving mother, Virginia Herrera; her nine beautiful children; 27 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Molina; her beloved husbands, Sergio Serrano, lovingly known as "Honey"; and Raul Fernandez, her "Babe," who also held a special place in her heart.
Mom, we will carry on your traditions of karaoke, family gatherings, laughter, and togetherness. We will continue to celebrate life the way you taught us—with love, music, food, and family.
As you would always say, "Si Dios quiere."
We love you, Momma, and we will miss you every day.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15th, at Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
