Steve Edward Arndt's Obituary

Classical Pianist, Musical Genius and Local Legend December 28, 1954 to January 24, 2020 Steve Edward Arndts, journey on this earth came to an end at the age of 65. This Local Legend Rock and Roll musician and Artist told his last inappropriate joke on Friday, January 21, 2020, which cannot be printed here. Steve married (Sharon Hill), mother of his daughter Jennifer and first son Chad in 1972 and later divorced. Steve friendship with a neighbor girl on his childhood street later became a "unexpected enchanted of love", meeting at a party in 1976. He later married the "awe-struck women", Cindy Stoddard in 1977. Steve was the second oldest of five children, born to Gale William and Dorothy Arndt in Cambrideshire, England. Later raised in Fort Worth, Texas and moved to Utah in his early teens. One of his fondest memories is traveling on the weekends with his father and siblings on a train to the local department store to play the piano in the music stores. Steves siblings are, Sharon Hinson (Mesquite NV), Dick & Amber Arndt (Syracuse, UT), Bess and Calvin Kendell (Clearfield, UT), and Lori & the late William Snegirev, (Layton, UT). Steve was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important the simplicity of living life with those you love. Although he threw some of the most memorable parties, during the greater half of the last century, he would trade it all for a night with his family, children and their children siting on the patio enjoying the ambience of the earth, music and garden fairies. Affectionately known as Bubba or Grandpa Steve by his family and friends. He had an over-abundance of charisma, charm and feistiness. Steve loved making barbeque ribs and chicken on the grill and famous brown sugar, pineapple baked beans. Steve cooked anything that was brought to table by friends and family. His fondness of entertaining and "rocking-out" to music was only surpassed by his love for beer and "shot of X "liquor. Steve always told you the truth, even if it wasnt what you wanted to hear. He was generous to a fault, a big heart and yet sugar-coated absolutely nothing. To quote Winston Churchill: "He was a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma." Steve was a recognized artist by schools, museums, printed press, US military stations and local communities. Steve painted his last mural with his mother while honoring his grandchildrens love for European folklore and mythical fairies. Steve was respected for his musical talents in many musical genres, rock and roll, classical, jazz, blues, folk, metal and world music and played multiple instruments. Steves had a strong pride of serving in the US Army, two tours in Germany; often stating, "I had some of the best learning lessons while serving in the US Army. My life is an extraordinary series of adventures that gave me family, children, grandchildren and a legacy. I guess I was guided by an inter-spirt and luckily found my way to my soulmate, Cindy. I have had an exceptional life, happy and looking forward to seeing my father, mother, family, Dale (brother-n-law) and friends. I know my prom date a-waits for me in a sexy black dress!" Steve spent three decades in different churches throughout the Utahs seven surrounding states while owning the Arndt Pipe Organ Tuning and Repair business. Retired, along with his loving wife of 43 years, Cindy/Roxy they moved to his long-awaited oasis in Mesquite, Nevada in 2017. Steve was more spiritual than religious. He enjoyed church in his back yard, "closer to the lord", he often stated with mighty hand and arm gestors to the heavens. Steve was also known as "well-read" in the field of ancient history and UFO phenomena. Being an ordained minister, he performed over 25 ceremonies that included weddings, memorials and spiritual home cleansing. Steve was exceptionally knowledgeable of religion history and philosophy while sharing his beliefs with friends and family of all faiths. Steve said, "his greatest strengths is the love he received from his children and watching their magnificent life accomplishments." With his love, he leaves, Jennifer & Boyd Thomas (Bountiful UT), Todd Weber (Phoenix, AZ), Chad Arndt (Ogden UT) and Gale William ll, Alicia & Crystal Arndt (Ogden UT), 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dorothy Arndt. Steve said, "Everyone look for me, I will be the one rocking out on heavens white grand piano." Steves devout feistiness and love of life served him well throughout his life. Even in his last months, he was a model of strong will and sheer determination right up until the end of his journey here on earth. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his family, many friends, neighbors, nieces, nephews and musicians from around the world. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2020.
