Our father, Stuart Eugene Lee, 86, of North Ogden, Utah, passed away peacefully at his home on August 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family!
He was born December 14, 1939, in Durango, Colorado. Dad was the first of seven children born to Nyal Willden Lee and Olive Lucy Tooley Lee. He graduated from Durango High School, where he was a two-time state wrestling champion, then attended Fort Lewis College for a short time.
He belonged to the Army Reserves from 1959 to 1965, and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1960 to 1963 in Central America. After his mission, he attended Weber State College, and Institute of Religion, where he met his beautiful wife, Kathy Francis. They had a wonderful courtship that led to them being married on June 19, 1964, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were blessed with three children, Brenda, Brent, and Brad. Dad was blessed with 10 wonderful grandchildren whom he loved, and he was proud of each one of them. He is also loved by 25 ½ great-grandchildren.
Dad is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a member of the 71st ward, and later Rock Cliff 7th ward, for over 50 years, and served faithfully in many capacities in the church, including as councilor in the bishopric, 70’s quorum group leader, branch president over the youth correctional facility in Ogden, Utah, and a councilor in the elders quorum presidency. Dad had a love for scouting and was a member of wood badge. He was a faithful home teacher and dearly loved those he served. Mom and dad served a mission at the LDS Employment Resources Center in Ogden, Utah, setting an example for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son-in-law Brian Burnham; great-granddaughter Adaline Rose Tingey; his parents; three brothers; one sister; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and numerous loved ones including his dear friends, Dennis and Eleanor Ewing.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Burnham (Brian); his two sons and daughters-in-law, Brent (Lisa Richerdson), and Brad (Kelly Brophy); his sweet friend Beverly; along with 10 grandchildren, and 25 ½ great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28th, at 11:00 AM, at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403, with a viewing and visitation starting at 10:00 AM at the same location. Interment to follow at Aultorest Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Auberge in North Ogden for their love and care of dad for the past few years, and Renew Hospice for their loving care in dad’s final days.
