Barbara Sue Malone Titus

It is with a heavy and saddened heart that we are announcing the passing of Barbara Sue (Malone) Titus. She passed away in the evening on Friday, October 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was truly a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a wonderful friend to everyone that knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Barbara was born on September 8, 1945, to her loving parents, Burl Boyd Malone and Bennie Geneva Matthews, in Locksburg, Arkansas. She had one brother, Rodney Hal Malone. She graduated from high school in Long Beach, California in 1963. She moved with her family to Fort Bragg, California and met, then married Jerry Dee Smith, and from that loving union, they were blessed with two sons, Jeffery Thomas Smith and Mark Steven Smith. They later divorced but remained great friends until Jerry’s death in 1992.

She later married Stanley Vernon Titus in April 1996, in Ogden, Utah and they were very happily married until her passing.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brother.

She is survived by her husband Stanley V. Titus, her two sons, Jeff Smith (Susan) and Mark Smith, as well as one stepdaughter, Traci Snow (Jeff), and two stepsons, Greg Titus (Ruth) and Jeff Titus (Tammy). She’s also survived by 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The pride and joy in her life was her loving family, but most especially it was her grandchildren that would always make her smile so big and get that special twinkle in her eyes. She was an excellent cook, and when you came by for a visit and/or dinner, she would make sure that everyone’s plates were always full.

Our family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff at Hidden Valley Assisted Living and Memory Care Center, especially to Eve and Lisa. As well as to Denise and Kenzie, from Canyon Hospice Care who made her last few weeks especially peaceful.

Barbara’s final wishes were that she be cremated, which will be under the direction of Leavitt’s Aultorest Mortuary in Ogden.

Because of the love that she had in her heart for her family and friends, we will be having a Celebration of Life on November 12, 2022, from Noon to 2:00 pm, and will take place at Leavitt’s Aultorest Mortuary, located at 836 36th St. so that we can all gather together for one last group smile for her as we say Good-bye!!!

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please make a donation to the charity of your choice in the name of Barbara Sue Titus.
