"Gone Golfing"CLINTON Sueko Kuniyoshi Sorensen, 69, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 following an auto accident. She was born May 28, 1942, in Okinawa, Japan to Shinsho Kuniyoshi and Umi Nitta. Sueko attended an Ikebana school (literally flowers kept alive) where she received high honors for her talent. Later she ran a super market in Okinawa. She married Kenny Sorensen on January 18, 1992 in Okinawa, Japan. Sueko loved flowers (she raised the most beautiful orchids), she loved Jim Reeves music and the Platters, was a superb cook and loved her home and loved her husband. She was a big-hearted and emotional person who could light up a room with her smile. Sueko was an avid golfer and she earned hundreds of trophies for bowling. She also loved to "win big" in Wendover. Sueko is survived by her husband, Kenny; her son Reuta Nakomota of Japan; step-son Mark Sorensen (Kimberly) of Las Vegas, Nevada; step-daughter Shana Glines (Mike) of West Valley, Utah; and 7 grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters Setsuko Hiener (Roy Gruwell) of Austin, Texas; Mieko Kuniyoshi of Okinawa, Japan; Tomiko Robinson (Gary) of Austin, Texas; Akemi Kuhn (Leon) of Okinawa, Japan; and her brothers Shinko Kuniyoshi of Japan and Akira Kuniyoshi of Okinawa, Japan. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Takeshi Kuniyoshi. She will be so missed by her family and many friends. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Cremation under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
