Suzette Manscill Penrod

Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sibling, and Best Friend peacefully returned home on Thursday, February 3, 2022, from her home in Hooper, Utah. Suzette was born October 18, 1954, to Mardene Stewart Manscill and Edgar Vaughn Manscill in Ogden, Utah. Suzette grew up in Farr West, Utah, and graduated from Weber High School in May of 1973. She married Leslie G. Penrod in the Salt Lake Temple on June 28, 1973.

Suzette loved her family above all else. Her unconditional love was an example to everyone. She was a peacemaker by nature and beloved by all who knew her. Suzette lived in the moment. She loved to travel, especially to anywhere Disney – she was a kid at heart. Suzette loved dancing, baking, painting, crocheting, and sewing clothes. She enjoyed helping her daughters and granddaughters make quilts. Suzette loved going shopping with her mom, sisters, and daughters and she took each of her grandkids shopping for their birthdays. Suzette loved camping with her family, singing around the campfire, and roasting hot dogs and s’mores.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities and organizations. She created many fond memories serving the Young Women of the church.  She was also a member of LTW organization where she met more people to love. It is through those associations, and in her home, where she developed a close, loving, relationship with her Savior. She is our loving angel and always will be extremely missed.

Suzette was employed by USPS in Layton and Hooper for over 25 years. She delivered mail and was known as the “Missionary Mail Lady” because she would honk the mail truck horn when a mission call was put in the mailbox and missionaries would often come get their picture with her. She always cared for those to whom she delivered mail.

Suzette Penrod is survived by her daughters: Lezette (Keith) Rusch, Tiffany (Timothy) Kealamakia, and Sharee (David) Carlisle; her grandchildren: Bryson (Jenae), Adam (Elizabeth), Mariah (Justin), Kiana, Olivia, Nalea, Savanah, Ryker, and Quinlee; four great-grandchildren: Ammon, Allyson, Hannah, and Jaxon.  Siblings: Randy (Suzanne) Manscill, Craig (Jana) Manscill, Deanne (Kelly) Buckway, Darla (Curt) Beutler, Duane (Michelle) Manscill and In-Laws: Lynn Penrod, David (Emmalou) Penrod, Marie (Byron) Sherwood, Blaine (Cherie) Penrod, Gary (Simone) Penrod, Dale (Annette) Penrod, Lynda (Kerry) Pipkin, Janette Penrod (Barry Cunningham), Denise (Kent) Beaman, Kristi (Will) Hales, Daniel Penrod, and Joy (Ken) Boothe.
