Obituary

On May 1st, a beautiful sunny day, Tanya Lee Memmott lost her valiant fight with cancer. Tanya was born on July 14th, 1971, in Payson, Utah, to Terry Memmott and Lorene Arnold. Tanya was a mother to four beautiful daughters who were the light of her life. She was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite calling was teaching the Sunbeams.

Her favorite activities were spending time with her girls, going to the aquarium and the zoo, taking a trip to the mountains, or going to the library for a book. Tanya loved to read. She loved thrifting with her girls, and looking for treasures that reminded her of her angel baby, Marissa.

She was an excellent cook, and loved her job serving the residents of Rocky Mountain - Maple Dell alongside her daughter, Faith. The residents will miss her good cooking, as they said, no one made fried eggs like Tanya!

Tanya was a loved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, who will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Tanya is survived by her daughters, Faith Vigil, Hailey Vigil, and Makayla Memmott; her mom, Lorene Arnold; her siblings, Lori Grant, Ryan (Michelle) Memmott, Justin (Braci) Memmott, Kristen (Tyson) Horton, and Kimberly (Cody) Powell; and her loving dog, Champ.

Tanya was preceded in death by her beautiful baby Marissa; her father, Terry Memmott; her grandparents, Loren and Mary Arnold, and Harold and Ada Memmott; her brother-in-law Kyle Grant; and cousins Jereme and Natalie Williams.

We as a family wish to thank CNS hospice nurse Geoff, who was like a breath of fresh air and treated Tanya like a dear friend from the start.

Sincere thanks to Jace and the associates with Leavitt’s Mortuary for the tender loving care of our sweet Tanya, treating her with dignity and respect, and calling to let us know Tanya was safely tucked in for the night.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks for the many acts of kindness; food, gifts, and donations. It is appreciated more than you know. May you all be blessed for doing so.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 8th, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12625 S. Spring Lake Road, Payson, Utah, 84651, with a viewing held starting at 9:30 AM at the same location. Interment will follow at Payson City Cemetery.
