Joyfully I have completed my mortal probation which began June 10, 1924, in Long Beach, CA where Frankie Edward Johnson and Harriet Pearl Spendlove, my blue-eyed angel mother, welcomed me into the world. I continued my journey in Morgan, UT in the "valley where skies are so blue". There I learned hard work from grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and neighbors. There I was a happy-go-lucky Mormon boy. My next adventure was when my mother married William Young and moved my sister Betty Jane and I to Ogden to join a family of three boys and two girls, Lorraine, Floyd, Arvill, Marlow W, and Erma. I made it through Ogden High School by the skin of my teeth. I proudly served my country in WWII in the Merchant Marines, and in the Army during the Korean War, 155th Field Artillery. Being a fairly good dancer, my saying was "show me a guy who can dance, and Ill show you a guy popular with the girls". I managed to capture a special one, Carol Jean Telford, my eternal companion. We were married November 1, 1963, in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. We were delighted when Judy and Thomas Mark (Jerri) joined our family. Carol Jean was called home October 9, 1985. I swept Coral Aleen Decker off her feet and we were married October 27, 1990. She brought to our union six daughters, Deborah (Alan Brown), Kathleen (Brent Christensen-deceased), Deanne (Darold Browning-deceased), Leanne (Greg Mosher), Pamela Tomney, and Susan (Bryce Call). I have been blessed with 41 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. We built a home on an acre of ground in West Haven, UT where I had plenty of opportunities to use my gardening skills. Everything flourished with my singing and whistling. I have affectionately been called "Tommy" by family and friends and was referred to as Brother Tom by my ward Family. I enjoyed greeting people in the White Rail Ward with "Aloha" and learning the names of all of the children. I know that my Redeemer Lives and acknowledge the hand of God in all things in my life. On my grave will be written, "Here lies the body of Brother Tom, who went through life with a dance and song. Ill be here to greet you after a while with a two-armed hug and a great big smile". By the time you read this, Ill be aboard the "paradise express" which I have patiently waited for. I loved my time on this beautiful Earth.
