Thomas (Tom) Monroe Lucas, 78, of Ogden, Utah passed away on Friday February 13, 2026, from an aggressive cancer and leukemia.
Tom was born on January 7, 1948, to Clarence Ira and Matilda Irene Shepherd Lucas in Warrensburg, MO. Tom attended school in Ogden, Utah, graduating from Bonneville High School in May 1966. After graduation he went to work at Swift's meat packing plant in Ogden, and when they closed in 1970, Tom then went to work at Jetway Manufacturing as a fitter making jet walks for airports. He retired from Jetway after over 40 years.
On May 4, 1968, Tom married Joy Ellen Harris in Uintah, Utah. They had two daughters together and later divorced. On February 27, 1982, he married Carolyn Smith Whetton, which later ended in divorce. Then, on April 17, 1986, he married Dara Gamer Shupe in Huntsville, Utah, who eventually passed away on April 1, 2001.
Tom truly enjoyed bowling, both in leagues and just for fun with family and friends. Tom also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father, two brothers and many family friends, creating such good memories from those trips camping out in the wild.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Irene Lucas, his two sisters, Rosalee Stevens and Sandra Lucas, his brother David Lucas, his wife Dara, two nephews, and one great-grandson.
Tom is survived by his two daughters, Carrie (Loren) Kroll of lda Grove, Iowa and Kimberly (Matt) Chandler of Coolidge, AZ, two brothers and one sister, Ron (Janice) Lucas of Clinton, UT, Jim (Paula-deceased) Lucas of Castledale, UT, Janet Lucas of Ogden, UT. He also leaves behind one grandson, three grand-daughters and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00AM, at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403, with a viewing held an hour prior, starting at 10:00AM. Interment at Aultorest Memorial Park.
