Obituary

Thomas R. Otteson passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012_of natural causes. Tom was born June 7, 1930 to Thomas E. Otteson and Peggy Piper in Rexburg, Idaho; the youngest of three children. He married Norma Glenn in Wellsville, Utah after serving in the U.S. Navy as a Bosun mate. He lived with his grandmother while his mom and dad traveled to his dads jobs as a Forest Service employee assigned to five towers, building bridges and anything else needed during the depression. When his parents transferred from Hill Air Force Base to Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii, he worked at Hickam and lived with his parents until he got out of the Navy.Tom loved fishing, hunting, traveling, dancing and socializing. Tom is leaving behind his wife, boys , Cole (Sue divorced) Pioneer Town, CA., Blain (Linda), West Haven, Utah, Lisa Otteson- Miera (Jake), Roy, UT., four grandsons, Lehi Steward (Nicole), Jacob Miera, Matthew Miera, and Travis Otteson, San Diego, CA., two great grandsons, Salem and Wyatt Steward. Friends and Family may visit from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street. Per his wishes, cremation will follow under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.The family would like to thank IHC Hospice Nurses, Vicki, Robin and RayLene and Heritage Park Nurse Etta and all of the Aides that took care of dad.
