Thomas Michael Welsh was born in Ogden Utah, July 22nd, 1931, a son of Thomas F. and Villa Knight Welsh. He attended St. Josephs, Madison, and Central and graduated from Ogden High School. He attended Weber College, Westminster College and the University of Utah.
Michael served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as a medic. He had been a medical technologist at St. Benedicts Hospital in Ogden.
Michael met and married Marlene Armstrong in 1960. He then went to work as a cereal chemist for the Pillsbury Co. During his career he had been employed by the Colorado Milling & Elevator Co, the Peavey Co., ConAgra and retired as the western regional quality assurance director for Cereal Food Processors. Following his retirement he remained a consultant for Cereal Foods until 2001.
Michael was a past commander of the American Legion, Post 9 and a member of BPOE lodge # 719. He was a life member of the American Assn. of Cereal Chemists.
Michael enjoyed many hobbies; he was a master woodworker and especially loved woodturning. He was also an accomplished organist serving for several years as the House Organist at Peerys Egyptian Theater.
