Thomas 'Tom' DeLair Wood died from an enduring battle with Parkinsons Disease in Ogden, Utah at the age of 84.
Tom was born in Potsdam, New York. He married Mildred Palensky, from Oaks, North Dakota on June 12th, 1956. Tom served with the United States Navy during the Korean war as an electrician 1st class. Over the course of a celebrated career he was a Quality Engineer for Ryan Aeronautical and Thiokol.
Tom relished fly fishing and building and flying radio-controlled airplanes. He was a dedicated person who loved reading and playing with the family dogs. He was an active and dedicated member of the Catholic Church.
Tom is survived by his wife, Mildred; children, Susan 60, Peggy 59, and John 48; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Laura Wood, and siblings Mark, Theresa, and Shirley.
His children remember him as a focused father who guided them in the pursuit of their goals.
A funeral is scheduled for 2 pm on Wednesday, June 27th, 2018 at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, Utah. Full military honors will be conducted. Father Cummins will officiate the ceremony.
