IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Treva
Black
June 3, 1940 – June 24, 2025
Treva Vanice Black, known affectionately to all as Treva, lived a vibrant and joyous life from her birth on June 3, 1940, in Idaho Falls, until her peaceful passing on June 24, 2025, in Arizona Treva's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and spirited engagement with the world around her, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Born to Lester and Amie Daniels, Treva's early years in Idaho Falls were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family and the foundation of a community that cherished her. She carried the values instilled in her childhood throughout her life, spreading kindness and generosity wherever she went.
Treva's educational journey led her to accomplish significant milestones, including graduating from Weber High School and later from Weber State College, which equipped her for a fulfilling career. Treva's professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. She held positions at C&C Welding, Merrill Bean Chevrolet, and Max Factor, showcasing her adaptability and diverse skill set. However, it was at Hill Air Force Base where Treva found her professional calling and eventually retired, leaving behind a legacy of service and camaraderie.
Treva's life was not solely defined by her work but also by her unwavering faith. As a devout Christian, she lived her beliefs through her actions, offering love, support, and guidance to those around her. Her faith was her compass, guiding her through life's challenges and celebrations.
A woman of many passions, Treva found joy in a plethora of activities. She was an avid bowler, a graceful dancer, a keen golfer, and had a green thumb that could make any garden bloom. Her love for camping and traveling was only matched by the joy she found in spending precious moments with her beloved family.
Treva married Buddy E Connery May 2nd, 1959, in Ogden, UT, later divorced. Then married Grant Black April 24th, 1994, they remained married until his passing. Treva's family was her pride and joy. She was a loving mother to her daughters Daneen Swanke, with her late husband John, and Lesley Connery, and to her son Chuck Connery, who, with his wife Anna, brought her much happiness. Her brother Rick Daniel, with his wife Karen, and her sister Teena Wallace, with her late husband Frank, shared in the many chapters of Treva's life story.
Treva's legacy continues through her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit and love for generations to come. Treva's departure was the result of a fall, yet it is not the manner of her passing but the manner of her living that will be remembered. Her life was a testament to the power of a positive attitude, the importance of family, and the joy of being actively engaged in the world.
We bid farewell to Treva Vanice Black; a remarkable woman whose life was a beacon of happiness and whose memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she loved. As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of the beauty of a well-lived life, and the enduring impact one person can have on so many. Treva's spirit will continue to inspire us, and her memory will always be cherished.
