Obituary

Troy Lee Valdez

December 18, 1970 - August 8, 2026

Troy Lee Valdez, a loving Dad, brother and grandfather, passed away on August 8, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Troy was born on December 18, 1970, in Ogden, Utah to his loving parents, Willie E. and Judy Valdez. He graduated from Ogden High School and went on to work as a rain gutter installer for many years. Troy was well known as one of the best gutter installers around town.

He married Torri Wardley Valdez. They later divorced. He then met Melanie Cooper. They later separated.

Troy was always so generous and giving with what little he had. He had the biggest, sensitive heart. He was a special loving, caring person to all who knew him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed anything outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, and trips to Wendover. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers.

He loved and adored his three daughters, sons-in-law and grandkids.

He is survived by his children, McKenna Valdez, Taya (Braden) Nielsen, and Kylie Valdez; his grandchildren, Kaisen, Taiden, Kenlee, Braya, Essjae, and Michael; and siblings Cindy (Charles) Archuleta, Tammy (Robert) Matue, Lori (Nick) Cota and Tod Valdez.

He was preceded in death by his father Willie E. Valdez, his mother Judy Valdez, and son-in-law Stanley Daoheuang.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 19th starting at 1:00 p.m. at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 N. Monroe Blvd, Ogden at 2:00 p.m. Following the graveside service, there will be a luncheon from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the Leavitt’s Waterfall Atrium.
