Obituary

Tyler Alexander Sandoval, beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away far too soon on January 24, 2026.

Tyler, affectionately called "Bo" by his big sister, was born on November 20, 1997, in Price, Utah, to parents Althea Perez and Jack Sandoval. He was the youngest of three siblings and the youngest Sandoval grandchild, the true "baby" of the family, and he immediately became Grandma and Grandpa's favorite.

Tyler grew up in Roy, Utah, and attended Lakeview Elementary School, Roy Junior High School, and graduated from Roy High School in 2016. Tyler was a scholar and always succeeded in the classroom. He was incredibly gifted and went on to graduate from Weber State University with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a minor in computer science.

Tyler also loved learning outside of the classroom. He memorized many facts about football, as he loved the Seattle Seahawks. As a lover of the sport, he also enjoyed cheering for his dad's favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, and especially loved going to games. From a young age, Tyler loved playing video games and continued this passion into adulthood, where he built his own gaming PC. He also enjoyed being active and loved going to the gym or hiking the Utah mountains with friends.

Tyler had an incredible bond with his dad. They often traveled together to see family in Colorado, to attend sporting games in Texas and Florida, and to spend time in Las Vegas. He also had a special relationship with his Godmother, who took on a role of raising him like her own.

Tyler had a gentle, sweet, and quiet soul. He loved all animals, though he had a very tender relationship with his cat, Kiki. He was also an incredible uncle to his sister's two dogs, often watching them, taking them on walks, and spoiling them with attention and affection.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Althea Renee and Jack T. Sandoval; brother, Jakub Olsen, and sister, Desaree (Corley Ward) Sandoval; Godmother, Cathy Sandoval; and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins who all loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by Grandpa Fillie V. and Grandma Stella Sandoval, Grandpa Terry Power, and many other loved ones.

Tyler had a big heart, and his generosity will forever live on through all who knew him and through the lives he touched as an organ donor. Though his life was short, he leaves behind a deep and lasting impact on all those who love him.

A celebration of life will be held later this year to honor him.
